Candidate's Statement: "As a candidate for political office I believe in and follow these principles: A- The only function of government is to protect life, liberty, and property.
B- Government can take individual life, liberty, or property in only four cases:
-To punish crime and provide justice.
-to protect the right to private property and right to control it;
-to provide for national defense and wage defense not preemptive of war; and
-to compel all who are thus protected to bear their "fair share" of the burden. (See F, below)
C- There is no justice in taking innocent life for convenience or to lessen our burdens. The preborn, elderly and handicapped deserve the same protections of the law given to all citizens.
D- Never should we allow freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights to be infringed.
E- Property rights are violated when government takes our property or money to give to foreign governments or citizens, or to compete against private industries, businesses, and citizens.
F- Fairness and justice require all taxes to be uniform so each person's property, business, etc. is taxed at the same rate, thus ensuring everyone pays their "fair share."
G- We lose our liberty and freedom when we let government ignore our Constitution.

SUPPORT ENDURING PRINCIPLES OF GOOD GOVERNMENT!"

I accredit my successful teaching career and produce business to the opportunities Utah has given me. But, my fellow Utahans I am worried about my students' and my child's future. The majority of our legislatures are disconnected from their constituents. We need an open government that represents the peoples views. A vote for Openshaw is a vote for open government.
